Living up to its billing as a sporting capital, this map shows the football grounds of North Melbourne, Richmond, Carlton (and Collingwood’s current home- labelled ‘Amateur sports ground’) Of course, this map also shows the world famous MCG and Flemington racecourse.
Many other oddities can be found, including a ‘Horse, Cow & Pig market’, a ‘Sailor’s Home’, the city abattoirs, a sheep and cattle sale yards and the old West Melbourne swamp!
